Bokkudo, or Bokku, are insect-like reptiles whose social structure is built on honor and one-on-one combat. They can transform into larger, more powerful versions of themselves to fight. They prefer to live amongst other Bokkudo, crafting homes for themselves in the vicinity of others. All Bokkudo each have a standard small form, a larger battle form, and a kudos token with a unique design. They trade kudos tokens battle opponents, or gift them to others as a sign of great respect or friendship.

Bokkudo may resemble insects but are more similar to reptiles. They have a tough interior skeleton and soft-to-the-touch skin that is similar to a gecko's or velvet worm's. Despite its soft feel, the skin is able to withstand a considerable amount of pressure or tearing from sharp objects.
CraftingBokkudo are world-renowned crafters- they're responsible for making the badges in ranebopets! They produce a gel from their hands (called bokkugel) that hardens as it comes into contact with air and can use this to craft shelter, objects (such as kudos tokens) and armor. It cures smooth and solid, but if it is pulled in gel form, it becomes like a silk and can be woven. They can control how fast or slow it hardens, and what color it is- they're able to produce any color found on their body, and each bokku has a preference for what shapes and patterns it uses in its work. These act as the bokku’s signature to identify the creator.

Battle FormsAll bokkudo have a battle form they use for combat! Battle forms are around 8-12 inches tall (but there are magic items that can make a bokkudo's battle form bigger than a horse!)
Bokku can transform between their battle and regular forms at will. Their skin becomes harder in battle form - battle forms take a lot of energy and space to sustain so most bokkudo choose to spend most time in their standard form. Bokkudo also have battle types, which expresses their area of specialty in battle. |
Power bokku are big and strong, agility bokku are thin and lithe, and special bokku are either in-between or smaller than the two but often have extra flairs that resemble robes or clothing, collars, etc. Bokku can exhibit characteristics of both their main and sub-type.
Agility: Speed or stamina. (Strong against Power) These bokku like to outpace their opponents.
Power: Raw physical strength.(strong against Special) These bokku like to overwhelm their rivals with brute force.
Special: Honed special ability such as technique, movement prediction, or elemental affinities/powers. (Strong against Agility) These bokku like to outwit and be one step ahead of their opponents.
